Niklas Mundhenk
Prior to joining Maple Materials, Niklas was a Senior Research Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where he gained expertise in lithium extraction using electrochemical techniques, electrode design, testing, and optimization, electrochemistry of metal/electrolyte interfaces, and thermodynamic and kinetic modeling of chemical and electrochemical processes. Niklas received his Ph.D. in Applied Geosciences from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Relevant publications include:
Corrosion and scaling as interrelated phenomena in an operating geothermal power plant, N Mundhenk, P Huttenloch, B Sanjuan, T Kohl, H Steger, R Zorn, Corrosion Science 70, 17-28.
Kinetic and thermodynamic analysis of high-temperature CO2 corrosion of carbon steel in simulated geothermal NaCl fluids, N Mundhenk, S Carrero, KG Knauss, R Wonneberger, A Undisz, Y Wu, Corrosion Science 171.
Corrosion of carbon steel and the passivating properties of corrosion films formed under high-PT geothermal conditions, N Mundhenk, KG Knauss, SRS Bandaru, R Wonneberger, TM Devine, Science of the Total Environment 677, 307-314.
